It was an exciting finish: Swedish GM Pia Cramling was in the lead before the final round, in which she drew her game. Nana Dzagnidze won her final game to force a tiebreak. Both blitz games were drawn, and in the Armageddon the Georgian GM was able to win and take the title -- together with the cool US $10,000 first prize.
The ACP Women's Cup Rapid took place in Tbilisi, Georgia, from February 17th to 21st February, 2012. Top seeds were Anna Muzychuk (2580), Kateryna Lahno (2557) and Nadezhda (2537) and Tatiana Kosintseva (2513), Nana Dzagnidze (2535) and former women's world champion Maia Chiburdanidze (2500)....

WFM (2001), WIM (2002), WGM (2004), IM (2007) and GM (2011), Myzychuk is the top female player in Slovenia, the 3rd ranked player overall in Slovenia, and the 2nd ranked woman in the world behind Judit Polgar, overtaking Yifan Hou in the August 2012 rating list and recording a career high rating of 2606, only the fourth female player to rate over 2600.
Born in L'viv, Ukraine, Anna took an early liking to chess, leading her to become the under-8 European champion in 1996. She has competed in and won numerous age-based championship tournaments for girls in the Ukraine, Europe and the World, her most notable successes occurring in 2003, when she was the winner of Women's Ukrainian Championship, in 2004 when won the championship of the Ukraine (U20 Girls) and was runner up in the Girls U14 World Championship, and in 2005 when she won the World U16 (Girls) World Championship. She competed in the Women's World Championship (2008) in Nalchik where she reached the second round before bowing out to Dronavalli Harika. She also competed in the Women's World Chess Championship (2010) and made it to the third round, but was eliminated from the tournament by Ju Wenjun.
In 2004 she became a citizen of Slovenia, where she is the strongest Slovenian female player. Anna won her first GM norm at the 2008 European Club Cup, winning the gold medal on board 1 for her team T-Com Podgorica. Also in 2008 she won the Moscow Open C-ladies tournament with 8.0/9 and came equal first with 7/9 in the 1st Scandinavian International Ladies Open held in Stockholm. In 2009 she came equal second in the Snezenky a Machri - Czech Coal Chess Match and won her 2nd GM norm at the Inventi Chess Tournament (2009) held in Antwerp. In 2010 she won the Maia Chiburdanidze Cup in Georgia with 8.0/9, played in the Corus (B Group) (2010), finishing with a score of 5,5/13 and a performance of 2583, won the World Junior Championship (Girls) (2010) with 11/13 and scored 7/10 on first board for Slovenia at the Chess Olympiad (Women) (2010). She secured her 3rd GM norm at the Shenzhen Women's Grand Prix (2011) when she came 2nd with 7/11 (+3 -0 =8) behind Yifan Hou and soon after her 8.5/9 as Slovenia's top board at the European Team Championship (Women) (2011) secured her the event's highest rating performance, 2782, and her fourth GM norm*.
She started 2012 with a solid 6.5/10 at the Tradewise Gibraltar (2012), following up with =1st (3rd on tiebreak) at the European Individual Women's Championship (2012) and =1st (2nd on tiebreak) at the FIDE Women's Grand Prix Kazan (2012). She's the front running favourite to score 2nd in the 2011-12 Women's Grand Prix series and win the right to challenge for the Women's World Championship in 2013 should she fail to win the 2012 Women's World Championship Knockout Tournament.

Congratulazioni vivissime a Zhansaya Abdumalik che ha conseguito la terza norma di WGM. Per soli due mesi e mezzo Zhansaya non ha potuto passare alla storia come la più giovane donna a conseguire tale impresa. La giovanissima rappresentante del Kazakistan è preceduta soltanto dal grande talento cinese: Hou Yifan. Riportiamo le felicitazioni dalla testata Szacharnia da cui abbiamo tratto la notizia.

WGM Zhansaya Abdumalik spóźniła się o dwa miesiące ale i tak wielkie gratulacje!!

Do laurów Zhansayi Abdumalik należy również zaliczyć
mistrzostwo świata szkół - Kraków 2011. Byli tacy,
którzy twierdzili, że to zwykły turniej z domieszką egzotyki.
Oby taka egzotyka objawiła się w Polsce.
Zansayi Abdumalik z Kazachstanu nie udało się zostać najmłodszą arcymistrzynią w historii kobiecych szachów. Brakło jej dosłownie dwa i pół miesiąca. W zakończonym 24 czerwca turnieju kołowym Alushta Summer 2012 (Ukraina) zajęła trzecie miejsce i wypełniła ostatnią brakującą normę WGM. Zhansaya miała wówczas 12 lat, 5 miesięcy i 15 dni.
Tytuł najmłodszej arcymistrzyni w historii pozostał więc dalej w rękach obecnej mistrzyni świata. Hou Yifan zdobywając ten tytuł miała 12 lat i 3 miesiące.
Młodziutka dziewczynka z Kazachstanu oczywiście nie "urwała się z choinki". Już wielokrotnie pisałem o jej sukcesach (poszukajcie w spisie treści Szacharni. Dla przypomnienia - jej dotychczasowe osiągnięcia:

Zhansaya Abdumalik

WIM Abdumalik is currently the top ranked U12 girl in the world (August 2012). She has three WGM norms and will be awarded the title when she achieves a rating of 2300.

She won the U8 Girls World Championship in 2008, scored 7/11 in the World U10 (open) Championship 2009, won the World School Champions U11 (Girls) in 2010 and again in 2011 with scores of 9/9 and 8.5 respectively, and came =1st (2nd on count back) with Mongolia's Davaademberel Nominerdene at the World U10 Girls Championship in Halkidiki in 2010, the latter earning her the WFM title. Her 5.5/12 at the IM tournament in Moscow in September 2010 included one win and two draws against FMs whose ratings were over 400 points higher than hers, and five draws against five IMs; ironically her two losses were against untitled players. In May 2011, she won a international Junior (U20) Girls tournament in Indonesia, the result earning her the WIM title, the youngest to do so at the age of 11 years and 5 months. In June 2011, she placed =1st in the 12th ASEAN+ age-group championship 2011 - Girls U20 in Tarakan in Indonesia. In November 2011, she won the Girls U12 World Championship outright with 8/9 (+7 =2 -0). She is currently competing in the World Junior Championship (Girls) (2012).

2012 has seen her best "open" result to date, when she scored an undefeated 7/11 (+3 =8) at the Alushta Summer event in June against a strong field that included 2 GMs, 5 IMs, a WIM and a WFM.

Abdumalik is the youngest student in the Kazakh-British Technical University.
