1. d4 f5 2. Nc3

Some consider this as a problem with the Dutch, but I'm inclined to disagree. Rather, it cannot be right to put the knight in front of the c-pawn so early. The upside is that White can force Black to adopt a Stonewall pawn structure and avoid tons of theory.
2... Nf6
There are other alternatives here, but if indeed the lines discussed after move 4 are no good for White, then this seems like a very principled continuation.
3. Bg5 d5 4. e3!?...
