Iranian women chess team has captured the 9th place at the 2012 World Chess Olympiad games in Istanbul, today.

Standing ahead of several strong contenders including Germany, Kazakhstan , the United States and Belarus, Iranian women chess players scored their biggest achievement of all time at such an important and prestigious international event.

Iranian players WGM Atousa Pourkashian, WIM Sarasadat Khademalsharieh, WIM Mitra Hejazipour, WIM Ghazal Hakimifard and WIM Shayesteh Ghaderpour have managed to win their matches against UAE, Tajikistan, Egypt, Moldova, Slovakia, Austria and Uzbekistan teams.

They've won 7 games, drew one game and lost three games during the course of event that is being held from 27 August to10th September....
